Green Human Resource Management and Organizational Sustainability of Food And Beverage Firms in Rivers State

This study examines the relationship between Green Human Resource Management and Organizational Sustainability of Food and Beverage firms in Rivers state. This study adopted a Cross-sectional survey research design. The population of this study consisted of 232 managerial staff from 58 food and beverage firms in Rivers state as retrieved from Nigerian Food and Beverage Industry Report (2022). The instrument that was used for data collection in this study was a structured questionnaire. The Cronbach's Alpha indicates a reliability index of .733 which implies that the items were reliable. The analysis was both descriptive and inferential. For hypothesis testing, the inferential analysis was conducted using the Spearman Rank Order Correlation Coefficient at a 0.01 significance level. This correlation was chosen because the researcher sought to determine the relationship between two variables. The partial correlation was used to analyse the control variable, which is organizational culture. Partial correlation measures the strength of a relationship between two variables while controlling for the effect of another variable(s). The study revealed that there is a significant relationship between green recruitment strategies and measures of organizational sustainability of food and beverage firms in Rivers state, The study concluded that green human resource management have a positive significant relationship with organizational sustainability being moderated by organizational culture of food and beverage firms in Rives state. The study recommended that Food and beverage firms should develop a comprehensive GHRM policy that aligns with the organization’s sustainability goals among others.
