The article demonstrates the strikingly low propensity of student teachers towards digital media.
It then explains the conditions for success in English language teaching at primary school level and the
special requirements of children of migrant background for language acquisition in higher education.
Finally, the need for criterion-based selection and use of teaching software for teaching English is briefly
presented.
