Abstract

This article critically examines the historical evolution, societal significance, and philosophical perspectives on the institution of the family, drawing comparisons between Eastern and Western ideologies. It delves into the concept of lineage purity and the role of offspring within the societal framework. By analyzing the insights of prominent figures from both Eastern and Western traditions, such as Plato, Herodotus, Aristotle, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, and various Eastern scholars including Farabi, Abu Rayhan al-Biruni, Ibn Sina, Yusuf Khos Hajib, and Ahmad Donish, the article sheds light on the diverse and often contrasting views on family dynamics.
