Abstract

The integration of information technology (IT) into language learning has revolutionized the way
individuals acquire foreign language skills. This article explores the role of IT in facilitating language
learning, focusing on its opportunities and challenges. It examines the various IT tools and resources
available for language learners, such as online courses, language learning applications, and multimedia
materials. Additionally, it discusses the benefits of interactive learning experiences enabled by IT and the
ways in which technology enhances language acquisition. However, the article also addresses challenges
such as digital divide, authenticity of online resources, and maintaining motivation in self-directed
learning contexts. By exploring these opportunities and challenges, this article aims to provide insights
into how IT can be effectively leveraged to enhance foreign language learning.
