Abstract

This article presents the results of ecological variety tests of cotton varieties conducted in conditions of medium-saline soils of the Research Institute of Breeding, Seed Production and Agrotechnics of cotton cultivation, the Syrdarya Scientific Experimental Station, and the results of the analysis of quantitative characteristics of these varieties. Studies have shown that the plant's growth is at the level of 103.0 cm from 122.5 cm.on the basis of the number of stems, the highest indicator was for the ascending cotton variety 16.7 pieces, and the lowest was for the Sultan variety 11.5 pieces, while on the basis of the number of stems per bush, the average was observed for varieties in the range of 14.4-19.9 pieces. According to the high yield, the Andijan-35 variety received 40.9 quintals. However, in other varieties it is located in this range.

Valuable economic characteristics of zoned and promising cotton varieties have been identified in laboratory conditions. The earliest maturing variety Andijan-36 at the vegetation mark was 116.1 days, the weight of cotton in one bundle was within 5.1-6.8 grams at the vegetation mark.
