The professional development of visual arts teachers requires methodological frameworks that account for disciplinary specificity, pedagogical variability, and individual professional trajectories. This study conceptualizes and systematizes the methodological foundations for investigating a differentiated approach to professional development in visual arts education. The differentiated approach is examined as a multidimensional construct integrating diagnostic assessment, individualized learning pathways, contextual sensitivity, and adaptive evaluation mechanisms. Drawing on constructivist pedagogy, adult learning theory, and competence-based educational models, the paper proposes a structural framework linking teacher needs analysis, instructional differentiation mechanisms, and measurable professional outcomes. Particular attention is paid to the epistemological specificity of visual arts pedagogy, where aesthetic cognition, creative practice, and reflective interpretation require tailored professional growth models. The study advances a coherent methodological model suitable for empirical operationalization and mixed-methods research designs. The findings contribute to strengthening theoretical rigor in professional development research and provide a systematic foundation for designing evidence-based differentiation strategies in arts teacher education.
