Mosquito Rearing and Determination of LC₅₀ of Cypermethrin Against Mosquito Larvae

Diseases transmitted by mosquitoes continue to pose a significant threat to global public health, highlighting the need for effective vector control measures. This research examines the laboratory cultivation of mosquito larvae and assesses the median lethal concentration (LC₅₀) of cypermethrin, a commonly used synthetic pyrethroid insecticide. Mosquito larvae were raised in a controlled environment and subjected to different concentrations of cypermethrin. Mortality rates were observed after 24 hours of exposure. Probit analysis was employed to calculate LC₅₀ values. The findings reveal that cypermethrin is highly effective against mosquito larvae, underscoring its potential use in vector control initiatives.
