Abstract

Ammonia is a crucial chemical used in the production of fertilizers, explosives, and a variety of other industrial applications. The conventional method of ammonia production, known as the Haber-Bosch process, has been the dominant technology for over a century. However, this process has significant drawbacks, including high energy consumption, high-pressure requirements, and the release of greenhouse gases. In recent years, several innovative methods have emerged that aim to overcome these limitations. This article reviews the latest research on electrochemical synthesis, plasma synthesis, and photocatalysis as new approaches to ammonia production.
