The article is devoted to a comparative analysis of the main grammatical categories of verb tense in the materials of the Azerbaijani and Russian languages. Comparative analysis of linguistic facts of different systems allows us to understand their grammatical structure more deeply, to determine the features of their internal organization. Comparative typological studies require, first of all, attention to the morphological structures of the comparative languages.
