Economy of Uzbekistan and the Role of Service Sector Development

The article analyzes the concept of the service sector as an economic category. The role of
the service sector in the economies of the world and Uzbekistan is analyzed. Development of the service
sector in 2017-2022. studied by main types. The analysis highlights businesses with a large share of
production in the main types of services, discusses the share of e-commerce in the economy and, as a
consequence, the emergence of new types of services on the market. Prospects for further development of the
service sector are highlighted.
