Ensuring safety in coal mining remains one of the most critical challenges in the global extractive industry due to the high-risk nature of underground operations. This study examines the fundamental safety rules and regulatory measures essential for preventing accidents and protecting miners’ health during coal extraction. Key safety pillars include comprehensive geological surveying, continuous monitoring of gas concentrations, proper ventilation system design, rigorous equipment maintenance, and adherence to explosion-prevention standards. The analysis highlights that effective implementation of personal protective equipment, real-time communication systems, and emergency response protocols significantly reduces workplace hazards. Training programs that enhance worker awareness, technical competence, and compliance with mine safety legislation are also identified as major contributors to minimizing injuries and fatalities. The findings underscore that a systematic approach—combining engineering controls, technological innovations, strict regulatory enforcement, and safety-oriented organizational culture—is essential for maintaining secure and sustainable coal mining operations. The study concludes that improving coal mine safety requires ongoing investment, modern monitoring technologies, and continuous education of personnel to meet contemporary industrial safety standards.
