Abstract

The liver (hepar) is located in the upper abdominal cavity, located under the diaphragm. Most of it occupies the right hypochondrium and the epigastric region, the smaller part is located in the left hypochondrium. The liver is wedge-shaped, red-brown in color and soft in consistency.The upper or diaphragmatic surface, the lower or visceral, the sharp lower edge (separates the upper and lower surfaces in front), and the slightly convex posterior part of the diaphragmatic surface. On the lower edge there is a notch of the round ligament and to the right a notch of the gallbladder.
