This study examined the impact of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) adoption on the operational efficiency of cooperatives in Imo State, Nigeria. Specifically, it analyzed how ICT infrastructure availability, usage frequency, types of ICT tools used, ICT training received, and ease of ICT use influence operational cost savings among cooperative members. A descriptive survey design was employed, with a sample of 211 respondents selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected via structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics like percentages, means, and standard deviations and inferential statistics, notably the regression technique of the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS). The results indicated that ICT infrastructure availability (β=0.245, p<0.01), ICT usage frequency (β=0.182, p<0.05), types of ICT tools used (β=0.210, p<0.01), ICT training received (β=0.169, p<0.05), and ease of ICT use (β=0.195, p<0.01) all positively and significantly influence operational cost savings. The model explained approximately 68% of the variance in operational cost savings (Adjusted R²=0.68), demonstrating the strong explanatory power of the independent variables. The findings suggest that enhancing ICT infrastructure, promoting regular usage, diversifying ICT tools, providing targeted training, and improving user-friendliness can significantly improve the operational efficiency of cooperatives. Based on these results, it is recommended that cooperative management and policymakers invest in expanding ICT infrastructure, conduct regular ICT training programs, and select user-friendly ICT tools to facilitate adoption and maximize operational efficiencies.
